How Clarity can be Kindness

Giving teams clarity is an essential part of creating psychological safety.

This can include allowing team members to have clarity around their roles, where they add value, and why they’re in those roles.

Many people continually ask themselves “why have I been asked to do this role?”.

Once they understand their role, their remit, their accountabilities, and why they were asked to fill that role, people are generally much more comfortable challenging, innovating, looking for new ways of doing things, and speaking up.

One of the key roles of a leader is to create an environment where teams have that clarity.

This means asking the right questions, making sure that people understand their role, and fully comprehend the value they’re adding through the process.
